Welcome to Piedmont & Tidewater

Piedmont and Tidewater are suite style halls connected to each other housing about 350 students located in the center of campus. Piedmont holds first-year students, and sometimes is also used for upper level residential students. 

Tidewater holds upper-level students. Suite style means two to five students in double, triple, or single bedrooms share a bathroom within the suite. Each floor has a central lounge for students to socialize. The building also has a shared laundry facility and community kitchen. The 24-hour service desk and Dunkin' Donuts are located on the first floor. Tidewater is the home of the STEM Solutions & Sustainable Futures Residential Learning Community. It also is the home of Lavender Living.

Piedmont and Tidewater offer a variety of room styles so you can choose the setup that fits you best. Here’s a simple breakdown of each option and how many students live in each space:

Double, Double

• 4 beds total
• Two double bedrooms
• Each bedroom houses 2 students

Single, Single, Double

• 4 beds total
• Two single bedrooms (1 student each)
• One double bedroom (2 students)

Double

• 2 beds total
• One bedroom shared by 2 students

Single, Single, Suite Economy Triple

• 5 beds total
• Two single bedrooms (1 student each)
• One economy triple bedroom (3 students)
• A budget-friendly option within a shared suite

Suite Triple

• 3 beds total
• One suite-style bedroom shared by 3 students
